ParticipantOr I’m not understanding how to implement it.
Quite a lot of my clients get that goofy “Copyright infringement” e-mail. In any of its flavors, it clocks in at about 1k characters (250+ words).
Hi! My name is Veronica. Your website or a website that your company hosts is infringing on a copyright-protected images owned by me personally…
I thought by adding a Maximum Characters condition value of 300 plus recaptcha plus a legal agreement checkbox, most of that could be curtailed. Nope, clients still get submissions with all 250 words.
What am I doing wrong or is this just the new norm?
EDIT
I just tried this, copy/paste all 250 words into the form – it got truncated at 300. How are these people bypassing that condition to submit the form?

KeymasterHi Dave
Could you attach an export of your form to support@wsform.com and we’ll take a look for you.
It is technically possible to bypass the client side checks, but it would be quite the effort to do that haha. First of all they would need the form to render as JavaScript so that the NONCE is added to the form (for security). They would then have to somehow disable those client side checks for maximum word and/or character counts. Then they would probably be able to submit it, but why they would go to that hassle to make such a claim I don’t know.
Have you tried some of our spam features to help prevent this?
Thanks!
Mark

ParticipantHey Mark, your Zendesk e-mail is not working, at least from my end.

Hello Dave,Can you please confirm that the long message is in fact being inserted in the ‘Any additional information’ field and not in any other of the fields such as the ‘Your First Name’ field etc.
Thanks,
John###
Since August 17 I’m replying directly “…above this line”, once with an attachment, and John apparently is still not receiving anything.
Anyways, in response to John’s question about this long text going into the additional info text area, that would be yes.

KeymasterHi David,
I am not sure how they are able to enter more characters, I haven’t been able to reproduce this at all.
I will have to agree with Mark on this that you should try and look into our SPAM Prevention:
Thanks,
John -

ParticipantOkay thanks for checking. In the meantime I created a condition to prevent the SUBMIT button from appearing if the word “copyright” is added to that textarea.
