How to Integrate Forms with Bento in WordPress

Build Bento-ready forms and send contact data where it needs to go

Connect your forms in WordPress to Bento with the WS Form Bento premium integration. You can create new people using an action, or generate a Bento form in a single click from the Add Form page.

Single-click form creation builds a form for your Bento lists and configures it so it is ready to use immediately. Bento does not currently expose field types in its API, so fields added this way are created as text fields.

You can also use any form created in WS Form and add a Bento action to run when the form is saved, submitted, or both. The premium integration supports field mapping, custom field mapping, tag mapping, custom tag mapping, event types, and subscribed or unsubscribed status.

  • Single-click form creation

Create a Bento form from the Add Form page and have it configured for immediate use.

  • Flexible action timing

Run the Bento action when a form is saved, submitted, or both.

  • Map fields and tags

Use field mapping, custom field mapping, tag mapping, and custom tag mapping to send the right data to Bento.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I integrate WordPress with Bento using WS Form?

Install the WS Form Bento add-on, connect it in WS Form settings using your Bento Site ID, Publishable Key, and Secret Key, then either create a Bento form in a single click or add a Bento action to an existing form. For full setup guidance, visit the Bento guide.

Can WS Form create a Bento form automatically?

Yes. On the Add New page, select the Bento tab and choose the Person template. WS Form creates the form and configures it so it is ready to use immediately.

Can I use an existing WS Form form with Bento?

Yes. You can use any form created in WS Form and add a Bento action so data is sent to Bento when the form is saved, submitted, or both.

What status options are available for Bento contacts?

The Bento action lets you choose Subscribed, Unsubscribed, or None. Subscribed and Unsubscribed send a subscribe or unsubscribe command when the subscriber is added.

Does the Bento integration support field mapping?

Yes. The add-on supports field mapping and custom field mapping, including the use of WS Form variables in custom mappings.

Does the Bento integration support tags?

Yes. The add-on supports tag mapping and custom tag mapping. Tag mapped fields need to be choice fields such as Select, Checkbox, or Radio, and the submitted value should be the tag ID.

Can WS Form trigger Bento event types?

Yes. You can add as many event types as you wish. By default, the action is configured to fire a $subscribe event type.

What field types are created during automatic form creation?

Bento does not currently expose field types in its API, so fields created automatically are added as text fields.
