InstaWP is a toolkit for WordPress that lets you instantly create WordPress websites. No setup time is required, and you can add any plugins, themes, or content you want. The site works the same as any normal WordPress website. In this post, we’ll see how to create an InstaWP website and access the site from a WS Form. We’ll also explore a few options for the forms.
Install the InstaWP Plugin
First, upload and install the free InstaWP plugin and activate your license. You’ll find the free plugin here at the WS Form website. Click the InstaWP Add-On link on the Knowledgebase page or the Add-Ons page to add the plugin to your cart. The plugin is free, but this adds it to your account and provides a license key. The plugin installs the same as all WordPress plugins that you upload from your PC:
- Plugins
- Add New
- Upload Plugin
- Choose File
- Install Now
After the plugin installs, activate the plugin.
Finally, enter your license key. You’ll find the key in your WS Form account. Follow these steps:
- WS Form
- Settings
- InstaWP tab
- Paste the Add-On License Key
- Activate
Create an InstaWP Website
First, you’ll need to create an InstaWP account at their website. You can use the free account or the pro account, depending on your needs.
Once you’ve created your account, you’ll be able to create a template in InstaWP. Go to the Sites tab and select Add New.
This screen allows you to choose how the WordPress website will be configured. Select the Forms tab. Choose WS Form and click Enter Site Name. Enter the name you want and click Create Site. Wait until InstaWP creates the site.
Once the site creation is finished, you can visit with site as normal, log in, or edit the site with plugins, themes, etc. You can even log in from InstaWP by clicking the Magic Login button. This redirects you to the backend of the website where you can edit the site as normal. You’ll also receive an email that your website is ready for use.
Create an InstaWP Template
To create a template for the site, go to Sites in the InstaWP dashboard and look for the site you want to create the template for. Click the Template button.
A modal opens where you can enter the template name, and a description, select if it’s private or shared, and choose an instant template. If you select Shared, then the template can be shared with others outside of your team. The Instant Template setting is only available for premium accounts. It allows for the rapid generation of websites. Once you’ve made your selections, click Save. The template is now ready to use.
Connect InstaWP to WS Form
You’ll need an InstaWP token to connect InstaWP to WS Form. In the InstaWP dashboard, click on your account icon and select My Account from the menu.
Select the API Token tab from the menu on the left. You’ll see a field labeled Create API Token. Enter a name for the token in the field. Under Permissions, check Read-Write. The Read-Only option is already selected. You can leave it selected. Click Create.
You’ll see the token in a modal. Copy the token and go to your WordPress website.
Go to the WS Form menu in the WordPress dashboard and select Settings. Next, click the InstaWP tab. Paste the token into the field labeled InstaWP API Token. Click Save Changes. Websites made with InstaWP are now accessible from WS Form.
Building an InstaWP Form with WS Form
Next, we’ll see how to build a WS Form that will use the InstaWP template to create a WordPress website. Select Add New from the WS Form menu and click the InstaWP tab. You’ll see the template you created in the list of template options. Select your template and wait for WS Form to create the form.
Edit the form with any fields and features you want. You can have it to show a message, redirect the user, and more. The default form is a simple login form where the user enters their email. It also includes an opt-in checkbox and a submit button.
By default, the form shows a message to the user when they click the submit button. It will wait for the submission to complete before performing any other actions on the form. You can edit the form’s actions to perform the function you want. You can also include variables. You’ll find the list of variables in the Knowledgebase.
Add an InstaWP Template Selector to Your WS Form
Add a Select field to your form. Click the field’s Options icon and select the Options tab from the menu on the right. Select the Data Source dropdown and choose InstaWP Templates.
Click Get Templates and wait for the process to finish. You’ll see the list of templates available.
Next, select Actions at the top of the form editor. Select the Options icon to open the options for the Action named Create InstaWP Site. Under Method, click the dropdown and choose Template Selector. Select the dropdown labeled Template Selector Field and choose the field you want to use.
Create InstaWP Sites from Scratch with Your WS Form
You can also create the site from scratch instead of using a template. Add the Select field in the same manner as the previous example. Under Method, click the dropdown and choose From Scratch. You can then use the default settings or make a few adjustments.
If you want to use a predefined InstaWP configuration, click the dropdown under Configuration and select the configuration you want to use. You can also choose a specific WordPress and PHP version.
