Migrating From VFBPRO

The WS Form migration tool allows you to import forms and submissions from Visual Form Builder Pro. Once a form is migrated, you can edit it like any other form in WS Form. You can also access past submissions as if they were always part of your form in WS Form.

Your source form will not be changed or deleted when you migrate it to WS Form, so  you can easily go back and reference it if you need to.

Migrating Forms

  1. Click on the ‘Migrate’ item in the WordPress administration menu under ‘WS Form’.
  2. Select ‘Visual Form Builder Pro’ from the list of third-party WordPress form plugins.
  3. Select the form you want to import.
  4. Select ‘Form’ to instruct WS Form to import your form.
  5. Click the  Start Import button.

Once the migration is complete, you can click ‘Edit Form’ to view the form in the WS Form layout editor.

If you have submissions you would like to import, you can click on ‘Import Submissions’ after you have imported a form. We always recommend importing your form first, because WS Form will create an automatic map of the Visual Form Builder Pro fields to your new WS Form form.

Migrating Submissions

As well as migrating forms, you can also import the submissions from a Visual Form Builder Pro form.

If you have just imported a form, click on ‘Import Submissions’ to start the process. WS Form will select the form you created, as well as show you all of the field mappings that are automatically created for you.

If you are importing submissions without first migrating a form:

  1. Click on the ‘Migrate’ item in the WordPress administration menu under ‘WS Form’.
  2. Select ‘Visual Form Builder Pro’ from the list of third-party WordPress form plugins.
  3. Select the form you want to import.
  4. Select ‘Submission’ to instruct WS Form to import your submissions.
  5. Select the form you would like to import the submissions to. You can select any form you have created in WS Form.
  6. Select the duplicate method you would like to use during the import.
  7. Set up the field mappings. The left-hand column represents the fields in Visual Form Builder Pro. The right-hand column represents the fields in WS Form. Click the button to add each mapping.
  8. Click the  Start Import button to start the import.

For large volumes of submissions, WS Form will show a progress bar. Once the import is complete, a summary shows how many records have been created, updated, or ignored. You can click to view the submissions to ensure the import was successful.

The WS Form migration tool imports all supported fields, including file upload and signature fields. Page and section breaks are also supported during the import.

Some third-party plugins feature dozens of add-ons, and in some cases those features may not be included in the migrated data. If supported, those features can be added to your form afterward using the WS Form layout editor.

And that’s it! It’s simple to move forms and submissions from Visual Form Builder Pro to WS Form.
