Cookies are small text files stored in a web user’s browser. The cookies used by WS Form contain no identifiable information and are used to personalize a users experience when completing forms.
Cookie Settings
To access the cookie settings:
- Click on WS Form from the WordPress admin menu.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on the Advanced tab.
The cookie settings are as follows:
Cookie Timeout (Seconds)
This setting determines how long a cookie will stay valid (session duration). The default value is 28 days (2419200 seconds).
Cookie Prefix
This setting determines what the prefix of the cookies will be. This defaults to ws_form
.
Cookie Descriptions
All cookies are session based and are not persistent.
The following cookies are created and used by WS Form.
Save Form Hash
[cookie_prefix]_[form_id]_hash
Example: ws_form_1_hash
This preference cookie is used to anonymously recall form data if the form Save feature is used.
This cookie is only set if the Enable Save Cookie setting is enabled in Settings. This setting is enabled by default.
This cookie is cleared when the form is submitted or it expires.
Tab Index
[cookie_prefix]_[form_id]_tab_index
Example: ws_form_1_tab_index
This preference cookie is used to anonymously remember the last tab someone accessed for a particular form.
This cookie is only set if the Remember Last Tab Clicked setting is enabled in Form Setting. This setting is enabled by default.
This cookie is cleared when it expires.
Duration
[cookie_prefix]_[form_id]_date_start
Example: ws_form_1_date_start
This statistics cookie is used to anonymously determine how long it has taken for a user to complete the form. It stores the date of when the form was first shown. The duration is shown when a submission is view on the Submissions page.
This cookie is only set if the Duration tracking setting is enabled in Form Setting. This setting is enabled by default.
The cookie is cleared when the form is submitted or it expires.
